Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Right now

This is the computer I've been waiting for! I'm a small business person and a busy Mom. I constantly run between the office, between the kids' activities and between appointments in helping my parents. While I own a smartphone, I got frustrated in not being able to type long memos with it while I was on the go. The netbook is perfect. I can fit it in my purse easily, and work just about anywhere. I'm a speed typist, and the keyboard is very comfortable. I did own a 8.9 computer previously, and its keyboard, as well as the screen, was way too small. The 10 inch netbook is just right, and the screen is very clear. The NC10 is very fast, and there's lots of storage on the hard drive. When I close the computer and reopen the cover, it goes back to where I was working in seconds.

I got a white model. The machine looks clean and sharp to me. And I know it passes the cool factor when my teenage sons also want one. We've been watching videos on it from Sling.com and YouTube all moring with no problems at all, and I did not have to add extra memory to it. It also connects to WIFI easily.

I admit, it is not a machine for heavy graphics, and it does not have a CD or DVD drive, but if you add a laptop internet card, it is perfect for surfing the web and sending out e-mails on the go almost anywhere. And I can run around all day without plugging it in with its 6 hour battery, which is great for when you have to sit forever in a doctor's office or wait on the sidelines for your kid to finish soccer practice. I looked at other models, as well as more expensive ones with a CD drive, but for the money, I am very happy with this little computer.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Lowest Price Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

This has been one of the best laptops I've ever used, and among netbooks, this is the only one I'm not annoyed on a regular basis by. The atom n270 is very quick for running basic applications and word processing. The keyboard is very nice with one tiny problem; I occasionally hit caps lock when I want an A. The integrated bluetooth and widcomm drivers work fine for sending and receiving files and audio, the sound card is fine for listening to music and watching videos, the webcam works fine in both skype and google talk, The microphone is adequate, the battery life really is eight hours, I was able to eek out 8 hours 14 minutes with wifi off and the backlight low. With regular settings, the battery will pull off a rather good seven hours and with everything running at maximum it still does five. The SD card slot has worked fine and the hinge stays steady. With the exception of the caps lock key, this is the perfect laptop for the power user looking for something to tide themselves over during the day in place of a desktop or larger laptop. Among windows machines, I've never seen a faster BIOS, which loads up in well under a second. Total boot time from hibernation is about 25 seconds. Also, the Fn key commands on the function keys and arrow keys are reasonably intuitive. However, I can't recommend this for anyone who has large fingers or dislikes small screens. My friends call it the smurf laptop, and I now dance around macbook users with my extra battery life. This is as close to perfection as laptops ever get. Low Price Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I have had the computer for 3 days. I took a long time doing research on net books. finally I did click on "order now" and I think I made the right decision. (blue which is nice)

The real advantages of this samsung are that you get a normal sized keyboard, a usable screen and to date about 6hrs battery life (at least if you turn off the wifi and use for word processing).

It was about $100 more than the sweet spot of most of the cheaper netbooks at $380ish.

But in the end if you type, the smaller ones are unlikely to be versitile enough. I think anything smaller would be frustrating for any more than occasional surfing ... I can type comfortably on it for hours.

This clearly a very good computer - powerful enough for me and a good mouse pad .. well designed key board etc.

I like it.

Save Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

When I purchased this product, I previously had bought an ipod touch for a nice chunk of money. It was a fun product, but it dawned on me that i'll be able to get more use out of a netbook than the ipod. So I looked into it and decided that among the other netbook providers out there, the Samsung NC 10 would be for me. It's made by Samsung and is very upgradeable. I plan on adding extra ram and a bigger hard drive. Let me tell you that I simply love this thing and you won't be disappointed with the purchase.

Being able to have this sleek computer with me wherever I go has afforded me the entertainment value that an ipod simply wouldn't have. I'm very happy that I plumped down the money I would have spent on an ipod on the puppy.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Discount Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I bought the blue one from Amazon after reading all the positive reviews. It's been about 2 weeks now and I overall I like this little netbook book. All the positives that were pointed out by the other reviewers are true (great keyboard, battery life, and sharp, bright screen). However, as for the build quality, I was rather disappointed. The chassis creaks as you are handling normally (like picking it up) which means the chassis isn't rigid. When you lift open the screen (with your thumb just above the webcam), it creaks and you can even feel the plastic frame move. Perhaps it may just be my unit, but I doubt that. If there is one, there are bound to be others. I am rather annoyed at this. Can you feel my annoyance??? Grrr... So, buyer beware.

Oh, one last thing, the touch pad is too small, but I am sure you all know that. I had to disable horizontal scrolling and re-map the vertical scrolling to an extra narrow width. Or else, the scrolling triggers a lot which causes the mouse to stop moving when you don't want it to.

Update: Well, it has be a while since I first posted my review. Yes, the creaking is still there, but this little beauty does what it was designed to do which is surf the internet. And I do this alot. The battery is pretty robust. I haven't timed myself, but I average a good five hours at least with the LCD set to 2 bars brightness. I only surf and watch the occasional Youtube videos. I don't play games on it and I try not to install too many programs or plug-ins. Boot up is speedy. But I have noticed that shutting down is slower than before. Maybe it is due to one of the programs that I had installed. To sum up, I am happy with my purchase despite all the creaks. Cheapest Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I had trouble using this product in the way I wanted. I wanted to use it to surf the net while watching tv and sitting around. The problem is that you can really only use this mini laptop on a coffee table or other flat surface. For example, I couldn't lay on my couch and rest it on my belly. However, when resting it on my coffee table, I had to squint to see the small screen and bend the screen nearly all the way back to view it (I'm tall). After a few days of this, I got fed up and decided to return it. Amazon gave excellent service during the return process, and I ordered an ipod touch. While the ipod touch is not a full computer, it performs nearly all of the functions of a netbook and is better for lounging around. I can bring the ipod touch right up to my face, so I don't need to squint. This is a good product, but you need to consider exactly how you will be using it.

Pros:
-Keyboard felt natural
-Good Build Quality
-Charges battery quickly
-I got about 6:30 battery life while surfing the net
-Battery indicator is very accurate
-System controls for battery, display, speed, etc. were well done
-The design was well though out
-System is sufficiently speedy and was faster at some tasks than my 8 year old pc.

Cons:
-Mousepad is much too small. I could barely get the pointer across the screen in one motion even on the highest sensitivity.
-White plastic looks to shiny. The should have just gone with plain white plastic. It's not exactly white, it's slightly darker and more metallic than "ipod white". It looks girly.
-Screen contrast ratio is terrible. My 3 year old 19" LCD on my pc looks much better, especially the black levels.
-Screen is not tall -> had to bend it far back to get a good viewing angle
-Metal trim looks out of place
-The speakers sounded horrible. They sound like headphones being played in an open air room at a loud volume. I was planning on storing 30GB of music on the machine, but the speakers just didn't make it a feasible music machine. So I wonder why these machines even need 160GB of storage if music sounds so bad on them. There is a headphone mode as well, but even the music through headphones does not sound good. I'd say the quality is a little lower than my ipod.
-Scrolling function is tricky. I wish they would have just put a small scrolling wheel somewhere on the machine, if that is possible.
-I had trouble using it on my couch and in bed. Ipod touch is much better in this regard.
-It feels heavier than I thought it would. Its similar to carrying a textbook around.
-It's portability is wasted for me. I would have to drive to anywhere I would want to use it anyway. So it's size is really irrelevant to me. For women, I would imagine it would only fit into a large bag as it's the size of a textbook. This is another example of the ipod touch beating a netbook. The only reason I could see to get one of these machines is if you live near a coffee shop and plan on walking there. Otherwise it makes no sense to get this machine over a cheap 14" laptop or an ipod touch.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheap Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

As a Mac user, I was very intrigued by the popularity of NetBooks. After researching the plenitude of 10" models and some 8.9" ones, after reading reviewers comments about the netbooks they own, after test driving a few floor models from electronics stores such as Best Buy, Frye's Electronics, and Radio Shack, I've come to the conclusion the Samsung NC10 was the NetBook to get. When comparing all the other models, most NetBooks come with similar features such as a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor, 2 or 3 USB ports, media card readers, WiFi, 1GB Ram, 160GB Hard Drive (often times smaller capacities are equipped), VGA port, 1.3MP cameras, under 3 lbs., smallish trackpads (the nature of NetBooks), and FastEthernet.

What sets the Samsung apart from the rest are the included 6-cell battery and the awesome keyboard. The keyboard has a nice positive feel and it doesn't feel cramped at all. The MSI Wind, my second choice, is a strong performer but the Samsung's longer battery life was the deal breaker. A couple of nice features that come standard are Bluetooth and a Matte screen display (less glare).

In terms of performance, its standard 1GB RAM is sufficient. I can get about 5 and half hours of normal use - checking email, WiFi on, listening to iTunes radio streaming, and downloading books from Sony's ebook store. If I were a little more frugal, say WiFi on and surfing the net and nothing else, I could get over 6 hours. The Samsung's battery performance is phenomenal. My Black MacBook's normal usage gets about 3 hours.

Two minor complaints are the trackpad and the media card reader. The trackpad, as with most NetBooks, is small. You run out of room when dragging anything. The texture is the same as the palm rest, lending confusion to using the trackpad. I purchased a Verbatim portable Bluetooth laser mouse and all my niggles went away. The other small gripe is the media card reader. When an SD card is inserted it sticks out a little bit. If you leave it in the reader, you have to be careful when transporting your NC-10. Otherwise you run the risk of damaging the card reader, the computer, or both.

If Apple came out with a NetBook, I would be all over it. As it stands, the Samsung NC-10 is the best out there so far. Pound for pound, it has all the features I wanted and needed. It's also a good looking NetBook with a cool chrome accent on the side - especially in a deep metallic blue. It's not the smallest or the lightest Netbook, but the Samsung hits the sweet spot in terms of performance, size, and features. Despite the 8 year old Windows XP, it's a winner.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Buying Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

The Samsung NC10 has a lot of nice features for a netbook but you have to realize that the Intel Atom Processor is weak, weak, weak. Streaming internet video is choppy (even with 2 GB of RAM) and it is extremely slow compared to the Centrino Core 2 Duos. Buy Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1EHRFQSTE9GKU Here is a 9 minute review of the NC10. I thought it would be a bit more exciting to see it in action and my first thoughts. I've put in a few size comparisons that helps get the feel of it.

I really love the whole experience of owning one of these. The battery life is amazing with 7 hours and more. The experience of daily surfing on the go in style is so helpful and enjoyable. If you are on the go and have time between appointments it can really change the way you do business online. You can display products to anyone, learn Tai Chi outside or just in your mind. Just brilliant.

Purchase Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I purchased the NC10 from amazon after doing quite a bit of research, I went to several stores to try out different netbooks though no one locally carried the Samsung so I bought it based on reviews and what i did and didn't like about other Netbooks...
Best Warranty, 3 years parts and labor plus you get 3 months extra for registering your purchase on samsung support website. (there is some confusion as samsung website and seller sites say 1 year but the warranty card inside clearly states 3 years.. go to sammynetbook dot com for more info.
Best screen. matte superbright LED backlit screen. 10 inch is a must.. the 8.9 inch screens and keyboards were just too small for me.
Excellent battery life
Has bluetooth and SD card slot.
near fullsize keyboard that is easy to touchtype on with a standard size and location of the right shift key...
I upgraded to 2gb of samsung DDR 2 800Mhz ram.. with no issues though the chipset does not currently run at that speed. maybe they will later with a bios upgrade ...
touchpad buttons in standard place on bottom not on the sides.
Only negative is the touchpad is not that great.
EDIT: I installed "twofingerscroll" a freeware program and it really improved the function of the track pad. very easy and resopnsive scrolling and turning off the scroll bars as you won't need them with this program makes the useable trackpad space larger.... definitely a good fix for the only negative I have found with this netbook so farGet more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Order Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I ordered an Accer Aspire One but returned it because I read some reviews that said the Samsung had a better screen and keyboard. The Samsung NC10 can also be upgrade another full Gigabyte instead of only a Half Gig like the Acer. I will wait awhile before doing the upgrade because my NC10 with 1 Gig is just As fast , if not faster than my Dell Inspiron E1405 with 3 Gigs running Vista. It has plenty of ports to connect devices and has bluetooth connectivity. This is my ninth laptop. I have never owned a desktop. Six years ago I bought a Toshiba with the fifteen inch screen. Everyone just loved it. I found myself only carrying it to work about one or two days per week so about two years ago I went to a DELL with the 14 in screen. I teach four or five classes at a local university and often have to carry two or three textbooks. I have developed arthritis in my knees and it is difficult lugging a laptop and several books around. Now I can scan my chapters in that I need for the day and carry my Samsung and roll book. Samsung, my 55 year old knees and back thank you. Now going to conferences will be easier and if I get bored between classes I can surf the net or grade my students work that they post online.

Yours truly,
Franklin Witherspoon, Ph.D.

Where To Buy Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Very neat. I am impressed with this little note book. Blue is a very nice look. It is very fast, and very easy to setup. Wifi great. The only thing is that you will have to purchase an external cd/dvd drive to go with it. Besides that it is excelent to take with you anywhere because of its size and weight,it even fits on the airplanes food trays without and problem. However, if this is going to be your only computer, that is no main desktop at home, then you may desire a larger computer with dvd/cd/disk drives. Shop For Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Returned my beloved Aspire One to Amazon for several of the well documented problems it is know for. Amazon was amazing as always and gave me NO hassle, NONE! Nobody else gives you this protection, especially in electronics.
So I bought this Samsung someplace else (eggs ring a bell?)and for more money as Amazon sold out that day. It was love at first week and second week then I noticed something. In the lower left of this beautiful NON glare screen I see two "eyes" looking at me while reading! On a screen of any color, you will see 2 eyeball size BLOTCHES" LOOKING BACK AT YOU....a HEART BREAKER for me as the difference in this computer over the Aspire One is simply amazing. NO comparison. I can't even hear this one, it runs cool and silent. The engineering is SO much better thought out. How can Samsung have a screen problem???? It took me less that 3 minutes to upgrade to RAM to 2 megs, it is fast, I just love it but this screen problem disturbs me.
So Samsung wants me to send it back into some 3rd party repair facility in Texas! Nobody here or the UK has got theirs back yet so I am waiting to see how it goes BEFORE giving mine up. And it seems nearly everyone out there with this computer is discovering this flaw! Do a SEARCH on NC10 Screen Blotches and get your heart broken.
I am just about to give up on these wonderful MINI computers and just buy another 15.5 laptop or possibly a MAC 13 inch in white? I surrender! Then I feel that weight in my lap, the heat, that cumbersome feeling of setting it here & there and moving it around compared to this feather I am typing on now, and I just don't know what to do. If these EYEBALLS on this screen would just stop staring back at me.....
:-(

Something I want to add as a BIG plus that nobody seems to mention. As you look down at this beautiful keyboard and wonder where to plug in whatever you have that you WANT to plug in, this netbook has EVERYTHING clearly MARKED on top of the case. What I mean is, there is a LOGO visable from the top of this keyboard so you never have to pick up the computer to "search" for the plug in spot. Just one of the amazing attention to detail items Samsung took the trouble to offer you in this unit. Every jack or port is CLEARLY marked with a nice symbal so you can easily plug in your mouse, headphones or what have you. Forgot to mention this very handy feature.

UPDATE! (see below)
FoE calls for Samsung "Nano Silver" washing machine recall in face of growing risk concerns

In the face of growing concerns about the toxicity risks that nano silver poses to environmental systems and human health, the US Environmental Protection Agency announced recently that it would move to introduce the world's first nanotechnology-specific regulations. The US EPA will now move to regulate products that contain nano silver and claim to act as "anti-bacterial" as pesticides, including Samsung's "Nano Silver" range of appliances (washing machine, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner and air conditioner).

Concerns have been mounting that nano silver poses unacceptable risks to beneficial bacteria in environmental systems and to human health. In 2005, a public backlash and concern from government regulators prompted the temporary withdrawal of Samsung's "Nano Silver" washing machine from sale in Sweden, although it is now back on the market. Friends of the Earth Germany has also called for the washing machine's withdrawal from the German market.

Samsung's "Nano Silver" washing machine will release nano silver directly into waste water systems. Nano silver is a powerful anti-bacterial. Samsung's own advertising claims that its nano silver products will "sterilise over 650 types of bacteria". There is a real risk that effluent containing nano silver could kill beneficial bacteria and disrupt ecosystem functioning.

In vitro scientific studies published in "Toxicological Sciences" and "Toxicology In Vitro" demonstrate that nano silver is also highly toxic to mammalian brain cells, stem cells and liver cells. It is completely unacceptable that products containing nano silver should have been allowed on to the market in the absence of regulations requiring safety testing.

In light of mounting evidence of nano silver's toxicity, and the US EPA's decision to regulate products such as Samsung's washing machine as a pesticide, Friends of the Earth Australia calls on Samsung to recall its "Nano Silver" range from sale in Australia until peer-reviewed studies can demonstrate its safety for the environment and human health.

Given the poorly understood toxicity risks of nanoparticles, the threat they pose to the health of workers, the public and environmental systems, and the absence of regulatory systems to manage these risks, Friends of the Earth Australia repeats our call for an immediate moratorium on the release of products containing nanoparticles. Products containing nanoparticles should not be on the market in the absence of regulations to protect the environment and the public from risk.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I have been waiting for what feels like FOREVER to purchase a netbook/UMPC. I was very excited when the Asus EEE pc came out and even moreso when I heard the MSI wind was coming to the market. But for some reason, they always lacked some sort of component that I found necessary to my needs.

After typing a bit on the Asus EEE 1000h pc, I was quite disappointed by the fact that the shift key was simply NOT in the right place. As a writer, as well as a touch typist, that is absolutely necessary to keep me sane and in the thought of what I'm attempting to write. If I was annoyed after only 5 minutes, I can't imagine what it'd be after three hours of writing.

This little netbook simply has it all - a perfect size screen... not too big but not too small. It has the correct keyboard configuration (therefore nothing is in an unusual place of some kind). And considering what it has inside, I just felt it was the right choice to make. Yes, SSD is great and all, but until the technology has a higher demand and drops a bit in price - it was just not worth it for me at the time to get something with an SSD.

As for the optical drive... most I do I can do through USB or through the linked network at my home (and I realize now that I rarely ever have used a cd rom drive for these reasons).

If you're looking for a portable and simple/easy machine to use for internet, documentation, school work, etc... this is it. Plain and simple.

I'm 100% satisfied right now with this product. Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Top Quality

Great features and battery life at the expense of practicality. This is a notebook you are supposed to take with you everywhere you go. A close inspection of why it doesn't have a fan will let you know that if you do take it with you, it won't be long before it fails. The bottom of the case is less of a bottom and more of a cage. Vents, large ones, abound, you can literally see the motherboard from both sides and the bottom. There is no protection from dust, dirt or the smallest liquid spill or spray. just carrying it from indoors to outdoors and back again will allow condensation in.

It's a great little unit if it's never going to leave your coffe table, but then you'd buy a 15" mid size laptop at the same price. If you are going to use it as intended you'll need a drybag to carry it in.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery This instant

Used to have a Macbook Pro, but I realized I did not really need a powerful computer for the work I was doing, and I view good battery life as an essential factor. This netbook is awesome, and I am usually getting anywhere between 5-7 hours depending on heavy or light usage. Screen size and keyboard takes about a day to get used to but otherwise I can see these netbooks as being the future in mobile computing.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Immediately

I wish Amazon let me rate it 4.5 / 5 because that's what it should get.

I bought an Acer Aspire One recently, and was really disappointed in a few things with it. The keyboard was too small, the trackpad was ridiculously small and the track pad buttons we're even worse (being on the side).

Pros:

This Samsung is beautiful, almost perfect in my eyes. I'm getting a solid 6+ hours of usage out of it on a single charge. The screen is a beautiful hard-to-get matte finish, the case has a nice metallic shine to it. It's plently fast, boots very quick. The keyboard is fantastic. The overall finish to the whole product is SOLID and very clean. The inside of the display and around the keyboard is a fingerprint resistant matte finish. It also comes with almost zero bloat-ware. The only thing you really should uninstall is the McAffe antivirus software.

Cons (all minor):

1. I wish the outside case was more of a matte finish so it didn't attract fingerprints.

2. The trackpad could of been a tiny big bigger (there's more room between the trackpad and the keyboard, use it!)

3. The trackpad button is a rocker style, making right clicks kind of weird feeling the left side of the button raise up in the air.

4. It has an SD memory card reader, but where's the compact flash reader?

5. The power connector shouldn't stick straight out, it should have a 90 degree bend in it.

6. Why does the factory setup give you two partitions? I have a C and a D drive both around 70 megabytes in size. Not a huge problem, but annoying down the road if I'm splitting up data (e.g. music) across drives.

This is a fantastic machine, the cons I've listed are all very minor, and only what I'd change to make this the perfect netbook for me. It's substantially better than the Acer Aspire One in many ways, although it's also more expensive.

Highly recommended! Now we'll have to see how the reliability is of the hardware down the road (3 months, 6 months, 1 year).

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Best Quality

Im a really educated buyer, i spend lots of time reading lots of review before I buy something. This netbook is the best that i could find, it has it all, the larger screen (1 inch more) it makes a huge difference. It has the same specs as all the other netbooks 1gb ram, 1.6 ghz atom, 160 gb hard drive, It also has bluetooth.

Review: Samsung NC10 Netbook

The Samsung is a late entry into the crowded Netbook field, but it looks like the Samsung engineers studied the competition well. The NC10 is a great little machine that incorporates the positive features of most competing netbooks, while avoiding their weak spots.

The NC10 is extremely well put together. The keyboard is firm and responsive, with well-spaced keys that have a good amount of travel. The tactile feedback is great--in fact, they feel like a slightly smaller version of a really good ThinkPad keyboard. I've tried the keyboards on most of the current netbooks on the market, and the NC10 has the best one by a fair margin. The HP has larger keys, but their travel is more shallow, and the keys have no separation at all. The Acer Aspire One and MSI Wind have good keyboards, but they're just a hair too small to not feel like a compromise. The Asus Eee 901 has the same tiny keyboard as the 700 series, and it's too small to be truly useful. The Eee 1000 has a decent-sized keyboard, but the keys have less travel, and the keyboard flexes more than the ones on the Acer or MSI.

The Samsung gets the keyboard just right. It's 95% the size of a "normal" laptop keyboard, the keys have a great feel to them, and working on the NC10 doesn't feel cramped at all. In addition, the Shift keys aren't abbreviated (a common netbook design shortcoming), the arrow and PgUp/PgDn keys are not weirdly arranged or taking away space from other keys, and the keyboard is firm and rock-solid when typing.

The screen is just a little bigger than the one on the Acer, and the same diagonal size as the screens on the MSI Wind and Asus Eee 1000. The quality of the screen is better than the ones on the other netbooks--Samsung makes its own LCDs, and their display expertise shows. The Samsung LCD is LED-backlit, the lighting is uniform with no blotching, and the brightness is incredible when turned up to 100%. In addition, the NC10 has a matte screen, which is a huge advantage over the glossy screens employed by many other netbooks. The NC10 is perfectly usable outside or in a brightly lit room.

One of the many design features that make the Samsung such a well-rounded package is the battery. Samsung provides a 6-cell, 5200mAh battery as standard equipment, and the battery life is outstanding as a result. I routinely get seven hours (!) out of the NC10, and that's with WiFi enabled, and the screen brightness set to one notch above minimum. That kind of battery life means that you can realistically operate away from an outlet all day long. A netbook's greatest strength is the superior mobility, and crippling that aspect by packaging it with a three-cell battery that lasts only two and a half hours at best is pretty much a deal breaker. The Samsung seems expensive compared to the three-cell equipped Asus and Acer models, but when you price a larger battery for those, the price gap shrinks considerably. The Samsung's six-cell battery also doesn't protrude very much from the casing, unlike the wheel chock that is a MSI Wind with the optional six-cell battery installed.

The NC10 runs exceptionally quiet and cool. The fan kicks in very occasionally, but it's so quiet that you have to lift the machine to your ear and listen for it. The underside of the NC10 gets hand-warm at most. My MacBook with its C2D processor can get very hot on the bottom (not exactly a bad feature in the winter, actually), but the Samsung is never uncomfortable on the lap even after an hour or two of lap-based work.

The Samsung NC10 has a very handsome finish that absolutely will not show fingerprints. The white machine is more silvery-white than the pictures suggest--it's kind of a pearlescent white. The surface texture is very slightly rough, and you won't be able to see smudges on it. Most Netbooks are fingerprint magnets, especially the Acer Aspire One and the HP MiniNote, but the Samsung designers were smart enough to realize that a netbook gets handled a lot and therefore may need an outer shell that doesn't look like an FBI crime lab desk after a few hours of use.

The port complement is standard netbook stuff: three USB ports, a LAN port, a VGA port, and headphone and microphone jacks. A nice design touch is the labeling of the ports: their labels are printed unobtrusively on the keyboard deck, right by the edges, so you don't have to turn the NC10 on its side to find the right plug. There's also an SD card slot on the right front edge, and a battery of status lights on the left front edge. The edge of the lower body is finished with a faux-chrome strip which adds a bit of class to the look and breaks up the monochromatic color scheme. Lastly, there's a surprisingly good 1.2MP webcam built into the top of the LCD lid. It works great in Skype and Google Chat--in fact, the image quality especially in low light is better than that of the much bigger Labtec on my desktop PC.

The NC10 comes with a generous 160GB HD loaded with XP Home. The setup portion that starts when you first turn on the NC10 lets you choose a partition scheme without making you re-install the provided XP install, which is very nice. You can choose to utilize the entire drive for XP, split the drive into two partitions for dual-boot setups, or set it up any way you want. Samsung included both an XP restore and a NC10 drivers CD for rebuilding the machine if needed, and the partition assistant at the start of setup also offers to set up automatic backups to a restore partition if desired. Samsung has bundled a good backup/restore agent with the NC10 that lets you set up a schedule for backing up your stuff to either the internal restore partition, or an external HDD. There's no crapware that comes with the Samsung, just a clean XP install with a few Samsung utilities like the backup agent.

Performance is very snappy for such a low-powered system. With the stock 1GB, the NC10 feels plenty zippy. Just for giggles, I loaded World of Warcraft--Wrath of the Lich King on my NC10, and I was surprised to find that it actually runs fairly well. You won't be doing any raiding or large instance groups with it, but it's more than adequate for some casual grinding or bank/AH business. Frame rate in Stormwind is 8-20FPS, and 4-8FPS in Dalaran. (That's at native 1024x600 resolution, and all details on low.) It's not a top-notch gaming rig, of course, but it's kind of fun to see the game actually run at somewhat playable frame rates on the little netbook.

The integrated WiFi card is reliable, offers long WiFi range, and hasn't dropped a connection on me yet. The mouse pad is small, but has the buttons in the proper place: underneath the pad, not on either side. The sensitivity of the Synaptics pad is fine, and there's a download that enables two-finger scrolling for added convenience.

All in all, the Samsung NC10 is a supremely balanced package that has no obvious weak spots. It has the best keyboard of all the devices in its class, seven-hour battery life, a high-quality matte LCD, well thought-out case design, and superior build quality. (Some people have complained about the build quality on here, but I've handled just about all the current netbooks, and I think that most of them feel far more flimsy than the NC10 does.) Its combination of great features and well thought-out design solutions make it the best netbook on the market at the moment, and well worth the small premium you'll have to shell out over an Acer, Asus, or HP netbook.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Buy Now

Look no further! No HP, no Acer, no Dell! This is the one!

Have had my dark blue NC10 for a couple of weeks. Just to see if netbooks of this size are good enough to be a primary computer, as soon as I got it I transferred all my data from my 15.5" Lenovo. Cutting to the chase, the NC10 is absolutely up to primary usage. The screen is big enough, the keyboard layout and feedback are better than my Lenovo (and Compaq), it is quiet, the battery life is exceptional (got about seven hours out of a charge, and can do normal work stuff, sleeping in between, from 8A-8P on a single charge), is capacious enough, is fast enough, looks much better in person due to the quality of the materials and finish, and is built well. I got a Logitech wireless mouse with a very small "NANO RECIEVER" USB dongle and now I am unstoppable! Soft of.

Only two things I have minor issues with: 1) The finish on the top (screen side), though really of very high quality and very attractive, is a fingerprint magnet. I've seen better ways to handle this on most of HP's notebooks, 2) I wish there was a factory-backed way to replace XP with a good version of Linux, like Ubuntu. Samsung will not support any Linux version and does not provide drivers.

The NC10 can handle up to 2GB of RAM, but it does not say that in nearly all of the literature and descriptions. It has only one memory slot, so you have to buy a single 2GB stick, not 2x1GB. You can find 'em for $25, as I did, and am looking forward to seeing what happens. From other reports I've seen, it should speed things up. Samsung is a bit coy about this because in the warranty verbiage there is a "back door" for them if something goes wrong with the unit after you actually open it and replace the memory stick; the owner gets stuck. Don't know why they don't give the resellers the okeedoke to make the memory an option.

Buy this! Nothing better in the class, and it's a relative bargain, too.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Decide Now

I've been using this netbook for over twenty days now and I have no complaints whatsoever. The dimensions are perfect in my opinion. Eventhough the touch pad is rather small I still think it's fine; however, getting a bluetooth mouse could help if you don't get used to working with the pad.
Very light weight but strongly built at the same time.
If you travel often this will possibly be the best computer you can get.
Excellent battery life.
Overall I strongly recommend it versus existing comparable products.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Right now

I've had this netbook for about a week now and have been on it constantly. It looks great and performs wonderfully. It is super quiet, lightweight, sturdy, and very quick. The rumors about the battery life are true..it gets about 6 to 8 hours depending on how you use it and what settings you have on it. Keyboard was easy transition and mouse pad was not very difficult to get use to. Speakers work great, especially for a netbook. Webcam functions perfectly also. I've watched plenty of movies, listened to lots of music, web surfed hours on end with no problems what so ever. The blue glossy finish on the top hasn't been much of a problem, since I left the plastic protective cover on it. Waiting for a skin to come out.. My NC10 does, however, have the two faint blotches that every one seems to be talking about. They are so faint, that I never realized I had them until I read about them and looked for them very closely. They are not bothersome and can't be noticed unless you stare hard at them on a completely white screen. If Samsung can have these problems resolved I will send it back. But if not, I can definitely live with them. You have been warned. Other than that, this Samsung netbook is perfect. Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Lowest Price Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

As an original eee 2G Surf owner, I found that the only people getting any use out of it were my daughter and her friends, mainly because my fingers were too big to type effectively. When she got her own laptop, I sold off the eee and did a LOT of research. Two netbooks seemed to be at the top of the heap for what I wanted: a machine I could type on effectively, a machine with a large, bright screen, and a machine as nicely designed as the eee. Those two were the HP Mini 1000 and the Samsung NC-10.

After some serious thought, I decided on the NC-10 due to the superior battery life, and what I felt to be slightly stronger reviews from a variety of sites.

I'm sure glad I did! The NC10 is a great little computer marred by only a couple flaws. First of all, I can actually touch-type on the keyboard. This alone justifies purchasing a slightly larger netbook. As with all small keyboards, there is some adjustment to be made; probably my biggest beef is the decision to make Home and End into function-enabled keystrokes. Additionally, the slightly smaller Enter key means that at first I ended up typing an apostrophe instead until my fingers got used to the placement.

Samsung has loaded the NC10 with a lot of software, some of which is not that useful or necessary. However, the Instant Recovery software is a great addition to the netbook. The eee can be restored instantly to factory default settings by hitting F2 as it boots. This is a very handy utility to have, and with the recovery software, Windows users have a built in ability to mimic that functionality. With a 160GB hard drive on a machine I don't plan to use as a data storage device, partitioning the drive into two means that I can use the backup software to set up restore points that are written as disk images on the second partition in case something bad happens.

So once I had the NC10 tweaked to my liking with all my custom software installs and uninstalls, I just made a complete backup of the C: drive. As we all know, the longer a Windows system runs, the slower it runs. Now, instead of having to reinstall Windows every so often, I can simply restore the computer to a nice clean setup and start again, all fresh and new.

PROS
- Clean design and sturdy feel
- Big keyboard
- Bright screen
- Included backup software

CONS
- Key placement takes a bit of getting used to
- Small touchpad will require some customization
- Included case is about as cheap as it gets

Okay, so the cons aren't really that bad. I'm telling you, I had to stretch to come up with that list because the NC10 is just that sweet of a machine.

Finally, the touchpad will require some customization in order to really be effective. I found that the biggest help was turning on Momentum, so that the pointer keeps sliding when you flick the touchpad, and setting the touchpad to a nice light touch.

Overall, the Samsung NC10 seems to set the current bar for which all other netbooks must reach.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Low Price Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I had been looking for a netbook for some time now and I have tried out a few different brands/models. I finally ending up choosing the Samsung NC10 (Blue). I can sum up my decision very easily: this netbook is awesome. I have had the Dell mini, Asus Eee PC 900 series, and an Acer Aspire One in my hands. I also looked into the HP and MSI models.

If you are looking at several different netbooks, consider googling "netbook comparison" and take a look at Optimitza's comparison table.

Some details, however, are not easily compared. Sure the specs on this and many other netbooks are the same, but the Samsung NC10 wins in several areas in my opinion:

**Screen size - the 10.2" screen really gives you the perfect amount of screen real estate and is a real advantage over 9" models. It's not too big and not too small.

**Battery life - Samsung claims up to seven hours of battery life with their 6 cell battery. I haven't tested it completely, but it is definitely holding up very well!!

**Hard drive - it's not solid state, but you are getting 160GB. Very nice (although if you use there backup/restore feature it will be a little less).

**Matte screen - some people prefer the glossy screen found on the Dell mini, but the NC10 has a great screen. Perfect viewing angles, brightness, and excellent resolution.

**Memory - 1GB, but easily upgradeable to 2GB. See below.

**Speed - I was impressed by the speed. Windows XP runs very well on the NC10 and you should be able to use a variety of applications on it.

**Feature packed - wireless, bluetooth, 3 USB, microphone, headphone, webcam, card reader

**Keyboard - after trying out some other models, I knew that the keyboards on the netbooks might be an issue for me. The NC10's keyboard is obviously still smaller than a normal laptop, but I feel that it is bigger than other netbooks and very tactile. It's sturdy and feels great. Plus you have a full row of function keys, which is not the case on some other netbooks.

**Touch Pad - netbooks have small touch pads and you will have to get used to it. The NC10's touch pad is no different, but it does have a scroll function and has just the right sensitivity.

**Durability - the NC10 seems to be very well built. The pieces and parts are well joined and it feels good in the hands.

**Design - Samsung opted for a different design approach. Instead of the "square" corners and sides, the netbook is more rounded. The ports come out from the machine. I was unsure at first, but I have to say that I have really come to love the design of the NC10. It's sturdy, well-built, and just feels good in your hands.

The Samsung NC10 has a bit more weight to it (total of 2.8lbs), but it's not noticeable. It's still ultra portable and light. As for price, I caught mine on sale which made it almost the same price as its competition. Plus, the NC10 has all features included unlike Dell or some others. You don't have to worry about raising the price as you add on features. The NC10 already has what you need.

A lightweight case is included (unlike some other netbooks). I opted to buy a different case (the Mobile Edge 10" sleeve, which has a little slack but fits the NC10 and power adapter very well).

I was not thrilled with the software included. Samsung had a backup/restore utility that also partitioned the drive. I'm sure it's great for general users, but I prefer to have my computers clean of any manufacturer software when I buy them. It looks like the software works very well, it's just my preference.

QUICK MEMORY UPGRADE:
You can easily upgrade the memory in this machine at a cheap price. Anyone can complete this upgrade and it will NOT void your warranty. All you have to do is take one screw off and a plastic cover. Memory is cheap right now, but be careful which one you get. It appears that some are recommending memory with a lower speed...this netbook can handle more. A 1GB stick is standard, but you can easily install a 2GB DDR2 800MHz stick. I chose to get Kingston 2GB 800MHZ DDR2 Sodimm available at Amazon, Newegg, or other stores. If you need help with installation there are instructions and a video available at laptop magazine's web site.

If I were to sum the Samsung NC10 up in one word, it would be "quality". It feels sturdy, looks good, and is well-built. Samsung did a great job and you should definitely put this on your list of considerations if buying a netbook. Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Save Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Anyone who needs a computer that is VERY mobile, runs forever, and works great get this. I can use this thing extensively all day with the Wi-Fi on all day without needing a charge. Actually it is home right now, in stand-by, and I haven't plugged it in in two days.

If you need to install a program that comes on a CD or DVD just copy/paste it to a removable drive of some sort plug that in and click on the setup file from there. I installed Office 2007 this way.

Discount Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I bought this machine as personal laptop. It's great for most everything I need to do--Web browsing, music, photo management, personal finance software, etc. The Atom CPU isn't lightning fast like the latest Centrino from Intel, but for most people it's perfectly adequate, and it means terrific battery life (about 5.5 hrs generally in my case). I didn't realize how much long battery life meant until this machine. I can set it up running most of the day without plugging it in - I can leave the power adapter home most of the time when I'm out or at work.

I've used it to rip around 200 of my CDs - the huge (for a tiny laptop) hard disk took all that easily. It's great for Web browsing of course, though pages load noticeably slower than my work laptop (a recent Dell dual-core machine).

The keyboard is fine for typing, and I have large hands. My only complaint is with the location of the Home and End keys. They are at the bottom right, with PageUp/Down keys, and you have to use the Fn key with them. So to select everything from the cursor to the document end, it's Shift-Fn-End key. I would have put the PrintScreen, Insert and Delete keys on the lower right instead.

I got a bluetooth mouse (Kensington Pilot Mouse Mini, around $30 on special), which works great--no dongle required. An external CD/DVD drive is pretty essential too (the LG Slim matches the NC10 nicely). This isn't necessarily the cheapest Atom-based netbook, but the great battery life, spacious hard disk, upgradable memory and good size screen convinced me to get it, and it's been great so far.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheapest Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Samsung entered the netbook and notebook business this year and came in at the top end of the market in all categories, and while this netbook has the best specs on the market, I can't give it a 5 star which will be explained in the "cons" section.

Pros:
-10.2 inch screen is sharp and big enough to avoid the frustration of a 8.9"
-120GB storage
-If you have a netflix membership, this netbook makes an awesome netflix instant movie viewer (if you have a good internet speed)
-Fast out of the box
-Wifi a cinch to connect to
-Glossy shell, chrome accents, and LED lights make this look professional, classy, and high tech
-Keyboard is by far the most laptop-like keyboard. I'm 6 ft 3 with big hands and I don't feel cramped.
-Built in bluetooth useful for using a cell phone internet connection.
-Built in 1.3 MP webcam
-Battery life by far the best of them all.. About 5.0 hours with full brightness on, and about 6 hours with it a little dimmer.

Con's:
-No SSD drive. I can't even imagine how much faster and how much more battery life this would have with an SSD, and samsung makes the best SSD's on earth. I understand this would have driven cost up.
-1GB memory. While this equals it's competitors with the maximum included RAM, why not destroy the competition with 2GB? I'd have paid the extra premium for it.
-Webcam software... Compared to Cyberlink Youcam (which won't work on this because the screen doesn't meet resolution requirements), the included webcam software is generic and boring. It makes it a lot more fun having special effects and backgrounds.
-External speakers are close to worthless. You must use headphones for quality listening.

The con's I'm listing are issues universal to all netbooks so it's not Samsungs fault, but they could have seperated themselves from the competition by a mile including some options the others won't. If you want a netbook and understand the limitations of all of them going in, this is the best one money can buy, and I've researched them all in depth. Great purchase!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheap Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I'm a college student and I use to carry around a Dell Inspiron laptop (which was way too big) to my classes and was a big bother because some of the desks were small and always had to sit next to an electrical outlet, fearing the battery would die out if i didn't.

With the Samsung NC10, it is much more convenient now for me to use in classes because of its perfect size and great battery life. Other reviewers have already pointed out the pro's: great keyboard, Windows XP, battery life, and the 10 inch screen, which is just about the right size, not too big and not too small.

The only slight con, would be the trackpad is too small. But, I've always used a wireless mouse for my laptops, so does not really effect me much. Other than that the Samsung NC10 is great and highly recommended for college students!!

BTW, for those of you who are wondering, I upgraded my RAM to 2GB, and it does not effect the battery life at all, and manage to upload Microsoft Office without an external CD/DVD drive. If you have a desktop PC just insert the cd in the desktop drive and copy the file folders into an USB drive and in turn use it to upload office on the NC10.

Buying Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Ok, this is a quick review after 1 full day of use of Samsung NC10 (blue). The battery claims seem true, it did hold 5-6 hours with heavy use (installing a lot of software, wifi on, Firefox w/hulu, vlc music player in the background). I am just estimating here, no precise measurements were done. The LCD is bright and a special Fn key made turning the brightness on and off easy. The overall computing power w/ the Atom processor is fine, no problem running basic office applications, email, media players. There is no crapware pre-installed. All the Samsung software added over win xp sp3 make sense and works well. Some custom drivers are included. The keyboard is not as good as HP 1035 but overall is decent, you can use it ok if you don't have extra large hands. The trackpad is small but gets the job done. 3 USB ports seems enough. The on/off power button on the right side is cool and practical. 160 GB HDD is plenty. I have installed also full Fedora Linux 10 distro. It works well, (including wireless), out of the box. No Linux voodo required. The hard drive is divided in 2 partitions initially. Wifi g is excellent, plenty of signal around the house at both floors, great speed surfing the internet.
Now, few complains: once overall seems like a ok solid machine, there are some touches of not-so-inspired chassis and cover designs. The interior of the netbook is matte but the exterior lid is glossy; I suppose, this is a matter of taste. Always will be people who like the shiny Iphone and others who like the Gphone. Same with the metal-trim around the edges. Also, making the edges thinner then the rest of the machine creates an illusion that the netbook is slimmer, but in the same time there is a concern if anything bumps into those edges. I rather like the understated simplicity of Lenovo S10 in this regard. These machines need to do some duty outside of the cozzy work desk of their owner and I would say Samsung still has some work in this area. All in all a great electronics piece but harmed by some cheap exterior design touches. One more thing: the 1GB memory can be upgraded to 2GB opening a small door on the bottom of NC10. However, if you intend to upgrade the HDD, you need to open the main cover of the machine for good and you will void the warranty. Would I recommended it?, yes, if one likes the glossy lid style and does no plan to harm the machine doing errants outside the house.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.
